Description

Compensation: No equity

PromethistAI builds relational AI agents, digital humans, and human-to-AI interaction built on real behavioral science and economics research, not borrowed marketing language. We’re hiring someone to make sure that foundation, our product, and everything we say externally stay in sync as we scale.

About the Role

This is not a Head of Product or Head of Go-to-Market role, and it doesn’t report into either. You’ll sit across all three functions, our conceptual research, the product, and everything that carries it to the market (sales, marketing, partnerships, customer success) — and own the process that keeps them aligned. You’ll be the person who flags it when a product feature has no research behind it anymore, or when a public claim has outrun its evidence — including when that means pushing back on the CEO.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and maintain a structured record of every research claim the company builds on, including its evidentiary strength and status (established, working hypothesis, unproven).
  • Maintain traceability between that research and specific product decisions and external claims, and flag any that can’t be traced.
  • Monitor market feedback — win/loss data, customer conversations, analyst and press reaction — and route it to the right owner: noise, a product issue, or a research question.
  • Run a recurring cross-functional review that reconciles research, product, and go-to-market against each other.
  • Translate technical or research-heavy material into language product and sales teams can act on, and translate ambiguous market signals into specific, testable questions.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years combining applied research, editorial, or strategy work with hands-on execution — not research alone, and not strategy alone.
  • Working fluency in how to evaluate evidence: distinguishing an established finding from a reasonable inference from an unproven claim, and comfortable saying which is which.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly for a non-specialist audience without oversimplifying the underlying idea.
  • Comfort operating cross-functionally without formal authority over the teams you’re coordinating.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (behavioral science, economics, sociology, HCI) or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Editorial experience at a publication that translates research for a business audience (e.g., Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review).
  • Background in applied forecasting or calibrated reasoning (e.g., superforecasting).
  • Prior experience in a small company (<50 people) building a process like this from scratch.

How to Apply

In place of a cover letter, we’ll send you one dense claim from our own research. Take an hour and return two things: a version a salesperson could use in a customer conversation, and a version a product manager could act on — plus a short note on what additional evidence you’d want before fully trusting the claim. It’s a more accurate preview of the job than a résumé, and we’ll evaluate it the same way we’ll evaluate your work once you’re here.
