The Director, Learning & Development will play a pivotal role within the Talent Management team, leading the design, delivery, and evolution of enterprise-wide learning strategies that support EP Wealth’s business objectives and long-term people agenda. This role is responsible for translating strategic priorities into impactful development programs that build leadership capability, elevate performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Leveraging deep expertise in adult learning theory, organizational development, and performance management, the Director will design innovative and scalable learning solutions while effectively overseeing resources, budgets, and vendor partnerships. Working closely with HR colleagues, business leaders, and training partners across EP Wealth, this leader ensures a cohesive and consistent learning experience aligned with organizational values and future capability needs.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels and manage multiple and complex initiatives simultaneously. Through strong stakeholder and relationship management, the Director will act as a trusted advisor, shaping learning and development programs, influencing decision-making, and delivering measurable outcomes. As a subject matter expert, this role will contribute to enterprise talent management strategy, ensuring best-in-class program design, execution, and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Partner with the Head of Talent Management on the vision, design, and continuous evolution of the EP Academy, ensuring programs are aligned with business strategy, leadership capability needs, and future workforce requirements.
  • Provide strategic leadership and end-to-end program management for EP Wealth’s Integrated Team Curriculum, an 8-week onboarding experience that accelerates new teams’ integration into the firm’s culture, systems, processes, and performance expectations.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate high-impact professional skills and leadership development programs that address firmwide priorities and resonate with employees, managers, and leaders at all levels.
  • Conduct an annual, enterprise-wide Learning Needs Assessment in partnership with business leaders, translating insights into prioritized, scalable learning solutions.

Talent Management & Performance Enablement

  • Partner closely with the Head of Talent Management to design, roll out, and sustain EP Wealth’s Performance Management Practices, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual performance reviews.
  • Support and enable key talent management processes such as talent calibration (9-box), succession planning, and leadership readiness, providing learning insights and development solutions as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on learning, development, and performance topics, influencing best practices across HR and the business.

Mentorship, Early Career & Culture Programs

  • Lead the Mentor Program and Mentor Committee, overseeing program design, engagement strategies, annual execution, and impact measurement for mentors and mentees.
  • Partner with the Head of Talent Acquisition to design, deliver, and manage Intern Program workshops and learning experiences, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality early career pipeline.
  • Champion learning initiatives that reinforce EP Wealth’s culture, values, and commitment to

employee growth and inclusion.

Enterprise Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build strong partnerships with leaders, managers, HR colleagues, and training teams across EP Wealth to ensure alignment, adoption, and sustained impact of learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders on ad hoc learning and development needs, designing tailored interventions that solve real business challenges.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and strategic alignment to internal training teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience enterprise wide.

Team Leadership, Governance & Operations

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the Talent Coordinator and other learning partners, fostering a high-performing, collaborative learning function.
  • Establish and monitor success metrics to evaluate learning effectiveness, inform decision-making, and continuously improve programs.
  • Manage learning budgets, external vendors, and learning technologies to ensure cost-effective delivery and scalability.
  • Ensure learning programs are well-governed, professionally delivered, and aligned with compliance, risk, and organizational standards.
