Director, Marketing & Communications – APAC

About STACK Infrastructure

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

The Role

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Marketing & Communications to build and lead STACK’s marketing, brand, and communications function across the APAC region. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of corporate strategy, commercial enablement, and external reputation.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Country Managing Directors, the Customer Success team, and the CEO to drive market positioning, strengthen brand presence, and support hyperscale client engagement across the region. In the near term, this role will also be responsible for leading a potential rebranding of the STACK APAC platform, a strategic initiative requiring strong brand architecture thinking, agency management, and cross-functional leadership.

This role reports to the SVP, Business Development (APAC) with a secondary reporting line to the CEO, reflecting the strategic importance of the marketing function to the company’s growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Communications Strategy & Media Relations

Own and execute the regional PR and communications strategy, aligned with corporate objectives and tailored to APAC market realities.

Draft press releases, media statements, and Q&A documents; serve as a day-to-day point of contact for media inquiries.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with tier-one, regional, and trade reporters across key APAC markets.

Prepare and coach senior leadership for public speaking engagements, media interviews, and panel appearances.

Lead issues management and crisis communications planning and execution.

Build a media decision framework that balances visibility with risk in contract-bound and commercially sensitive contexts.

Maintain a pre-cleared messaging library and redline guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.

Define and track media coverage KPIs including share of voice, sentiment, and pull-through.

2. Brand Strategy & Rebranding

Lead the strategic planning and execution of a potential platform rebrand across APAC, including brand architecture, visual identity, naming, and market positioning.

Manage the selection and oversight of external brand and creative agencies throughout the rebrand process.

Coordinate cross-functional alignment with country teams, commercial leadership, and the CEO to ensure the rebrand supports business objectives.

Develop and enforce brand guidelines that ensure consistency across all markets, channels, and touchpoints.

Position STACK as the partner of choice for hyperscale clients in the APAC digital infrastructure market.

3. Digital Presence & Social Media

Develop and execute a comprehensive LinkedIn strategy for the company page, including content calendars, audience growth, and engagement metrics.

Build and manage executive visibility programs on LinkedIn for senior leaders, including ghostwriting and content support.

Oversee the company’s broader digital and social media presence across relevant platforms.

Track digital engagement metrics and continuously optimize content strategy based on performance data.

Stay current on platform-native content formats, algorithm changes, and best practices to maintain competitive advantage.

4. Regional Marketing & Go-to-Market Enablement

Develop and execute APAC marketing strategies aligned with country-level business plans and development pipelines.

Partner with Country Managing Directors to tailor marketing initiatives to local market dynamics, regulatory environments, and competitive landscapes.

Support go-to-market strategies for new data center developments and market entries.

Ensure alignment between regional brand strategy and local execution.

Drive visibility and engagement across key industry platforms, conferences, and events.

5. Employer Branding & Talent Positioning

Develop and execute employer branding strategies in partnership with HR to attract critical talent across APAC markets.

Promote STACK’s culture, growth trajectory, and innovation through targeted campaigns, content, and social media.

Support Country MDs and local teams in positioning STACK as an employer of choice in the digital infrastructure sector.

6. Content, Thought Leadership & ESG Communications

Create high-impact content including whitepapers, case studies, industry insights, and bylined articles for senior leaders.

Highlight STACK’s differentiators including scalability, power reliability, speed of delivery, and sustainability initiatives.

Support ESG and sustainability communications relevant to customers, talent, investors, and regulators.

7. Stakeholder & Agency Management

Collaborate across regional and global marketing, commercial, development, and HR teams to ensure integrated execution.

Manage external agencies and partners across PR, creative, content, and digital disciplines.

Report on marketing performance, brand health, and communications impact to senior leadership

Travel

This role requires regular travel across the APAC region. Approximately 20–30% travel should be expected, including visits to country offices, client-facing events, industry conferences, and media engagements.

Qualifications & Competencies

1. Required Experience

10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy, with significant time in the APAC region.

Demonstrated experience in the data center, digital infrastructure, real estate development, or related capital-intensive B2B sectors.

Proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to a corporate rebrand or brand evolution, including brand architecture, visual identity, and multi-market rollout.

Strong hands-on writing ability: press releases, media statements, executive communications, and thought leadership content.

Direct experience managing media relationships and serving as a company spokesperson or media liaison.

Demonstrated proficiency in LinkedIn strategy and social media management, including executive visibility programs and content-driven audience growth.

2. Core Competencies

Strategic Communications Leadership: Sets clear strategy and sequencing; calibrates visibility versus risk in commercially sensitive and contract-bound contexts.

Brand & Rebranding Expertise: Experience shaping brand architecture, managing creative agencies, and driving brand transitions across multiple markets.

Media Relations Mastery: Builds trusted relationships with journalists and editors; fluent in on-background versus on-record conventions and precise, quotable language.

Regional Marketing Acumen: Experienced in brand development across multiple APAC markets; able to deliver a consistent yet locally relevant voice.

Regulatory & Technical Fluency: Comfortable translating technical, regulatory, and commercially sensitive topics for public audiences.

Analytical & Results-Driven: Uses share of voice, sentiment, engagement, and pull-through metrics to guide strategy and demonstrate impact.

Public Company Communications Awareness: Familiarity with disclosure requirements, investor-relations alignment, and sensitivity to partner reporting timelines.

Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to build alignment and drive change across country teams, commercial leadership, and corporate functions — essential for a successful rebrand.

Judgement & Discretion: Operates with impeccable confidentiality; understands and enforces red lines and guardrails.

This Might Be Right For You If…

You are a builder. You’re energised by standing up a function, not just maintaining one — and you know how to earn credibility quickly across a lean, fast-moving organisation.

You don’t get flustered easily. You can manage multiple high-priority workstreams with competing timelines while welcoming a new, urgent challenge with ease.

You are a strong writer. You can personally draft a polished press release, a compelling LinkedIn post, or a crisis holding statement — and you don’t need a large team to do it.

You are culturally fluent. You enjoy working with diverse teams across multiple APAC markets and understand that good marketing requires local nuance.

You pay attention to the details — meticulously, every time. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.

You are collaborative. You enjoy working with others to solve problems — and people enjoy working with you. You can shift from leading to contributing when needed.
