Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Transaction Advisory

  • Lead Client Engagements: Direct day-to-day project execution for high-volume, full-scale asset valuations (including multi-million and billion-dollar portfolios) to support buy-side and sell-side advisory and financing transactions.
  • Valuation Deliverables: Lead the preparation of financial models and presentations for valuation engagements and strategic assessments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface directly with clients, serving as a trusted advisor to executives from major financial institutions, private equity firms, law firms, and other institutions.

Complex Valuation & Financial Modeling

  • Advanced Methodologies: Oversee sophisticated financial modeling utilizing DCF methodologies, ensuring that rigorous analysis is grounded in true cash flows rather than proxies.
  • Structural Expertise: Direct specialized valuations for complex entities, including going-concern versus run-off analyses, joint ventures, futures, and NAVs for active music funds.
  • Granular Forecasting: Guide the development of highly specific performance income forecasts, modeling variables such as base versus bonus royalty earnings and the impact of evolving licensing frameworks.
  • Mathematical Auditing & Data Integrity: Lead the rigorous review of financial models to ensure strict accuracy, actively guiding the team in debugging advanced formulas and isolating specific catalog assets to prevent calculation errors in high-volume transaction data.

Data Processing Oversight & Quality Control

  • Dataset Distillation: Oversee the creation and optimization of large, complicated datasets and distill disorganized data into usable information for valuation purposes.
  • Disclosure & Reporting: Finalize comprehensive evaluation reports, meticulously crafting protective disclosure language and financial summary footnotes.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Work closely with the team to identify and execute operational improvements across analytical workflows and final client deliverables.

Practice Development & Thought Leadership

  • Industry Analysis: Monitor and analyze macroeconomic factors influencing catalog royalty streams, including tracking market trends from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Industry Representation & Outreach: Serve as an outward-facing ambassador for the practice by attending key music events, participating in panels, and representing the firm at industry conferences to expand brand visibility and foster strategic relationships.
