Director of Accounting

Embrace Software Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our growing team. This leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong background in accounting operations, strategic financial oversight, and post-acquisition integration. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for managing a high-performing accounting team—including controllers, accountants, and financial analysts—while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting activities.

Reporting to the SVP of Finance & Accounting, the ideal candidate has a proven track record in financial reporting, IFRS compliance, and leading accounting transformations. This role will also involve driving cross-functional collaboration to support acquisitions, streamline processes, and strengthen the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Guide, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of accounting specialists, CPAs, and finance professionals.
  
• Strategic Financial Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform executive decision-making. Present actionable insights to senior leadership.
  
• M&A Integration: Oversee post-acquisition financial integration, including intangible asset valuation, purchase accounting, and compliance with IFRS standards.
  
• Reporting Excellence: Ensure accurate, timely monthly/quarterly financial statements and KPIs for assigned business units.
  
• Process Innovation: Spearhead system implementations, streamline accounting workflows, and support annual audits under IFRS guidelines.
  
• Technical Expertise: Advise on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition (IFRS 15) and multi-element contract analysis.
  

• CPA designation or internationally recognized accounting certification (e.g., CA, ACCA).
  
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years as a controller.
  
• Proven ability to mentor teams and collaborate across departments in matrix environments.
  
• Experience supporting an IPO process, including SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and related regulatory requirements.​
  

Preferred Assets

• Expertise in ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  
• Background in SaaS/tech industry accounting or top-tier public accounting firms.
  
• Hands-on experience with mergers, acquisitions, or corporate restructuring.
  
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS, particularly revenue recognition standards for software businesses.
