Director of Audience Development + Analytics

The Director of Audience Development will be an integral part of the team, working side-by-side with the content director to create a disruptive, new short-format video content platform. The perfect candidate is a growth hacker who has an uncanny knack for making things popular on the internet.
The winning candidate will also have a passion not only for understanding the physics of social media and user behavior online, but also for creating contagious content, delivering great user experiences, and deploying effective marketing campaigns. We are a startup, so we are looking for someone who wants to roll up his or her sleeves and collaborate on making a great website and collection of mobile products and experiences.
About You:
- You enjoy the mathematical, puzzle-solving challenge of optimizing content based on data, as well as the more enduring art of creating great content and products that move people.
- You have deep knowledge of the major and minor social media platforms -- Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, SnapChat, Instagram, Pinterest, and so on -- and how each platform can be most effectively leveraged.
- You know the ins and out of the various social media management, social listening, and multivariate testing and analytics tools -- Optimizely, Clicktale, Curalate, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Crowdtangle, Newswhip Spike, Hootsuite, Piqora, Twitter Analytics, MOAT, to name a few – and have strong opinions about which ones are most effective.
- You understand the principles of SEO and the relationship between search and social.
- You like to move fast, make decisions, and take calculated risks.
- You have a track record of growing website traffic to exceed goals.
- You like to collaborate and are open to partnering with functional leads in edit, design, technology, product, and sales.
- You believe that being transparent, humble and generous in interactions with others is the best way to create a great working environment.
