Director of Campus Operations
Fleet Landing at Nocatee
Your Next Chapter. Our Newest Community.
Imagine welcoming the first Residents to a community you helped bring to life—knowing your leadership helped prepare the buildings, develop the team, and put the details in place for a successful opening.
Fleet Landing at Nocatee is seeking a Director of Campus Operations to lead Interior and Exterior Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Safety and Security. This is an opportunity to help launch a new community, establish operational standards, and build a team whose work makes a difference in Residents’ daily lives.
We’re looking for a leader who sees both the big picture and the details: someone who can work effectively with a construction team, coach department leaders, and ensure every Resident arrives at a home that is ready to welcome them.
Our Story
Fleet Landing’s story began in 1990 with a commitment to helping older adults live well through exceptional service, meaningful relationships, and a welcoming community. Fleet Landing at Nocatee, our new Life Plan Community, will carry that commitment forward.
As a member of the opening leadership team, you’ll help shape how the community operates from day one—building the relationships, service standards, and daily practices that will support Residents and staff for years to come.
What You’ll Do
Help bring the community from construction to operation.
-
Partner with the construction team and community leaders to coordinate an efficient, effective handover of buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems.
-
Participate in walkthroughs, identify operational concerns, and follow through on punch-list items and construction deficiencies.
-
Ensure the operating team receives the training, maintenance information, warranties, and documentation needed to manage the community confidently.
-
Align operational readiness with construction milestones and Resident move-in schedules.
Make move-in readiness a priority.
-
Coordinate with Sales, Resident Services, construction partners, and department leaders to prepare Resident units for scheduled move-ins.
-
Establish readiness checklists and final inspections to confirm homes are clean, safe, functional, and welcoming.
-
Resolve outstanding issues promptly and communicate clearly when concerns could affect a Resident’s arrival.
Build and lead a strong operations team.
-
Recruit, develop, and support leaders and staff in Interior and Exterior Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Safety and Security.
-
Establish clear expectations, practical procedures, and a service culture grounded in responsiveness, accountability, and respect.
-
Create an environment where staff take pride in their work and understand how their contributions support the Resident experience.
Deliver reliable, well-managed campus operations.
-
Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, housekeeping, grounds, and safety and security services.
-
Use WorxHub to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, equipment records, and service performance.
-
Manage operating and capital budgets, vendor relationships, and service agreements with attention to quality and responsible stewardship.
-
Maintain regulatory and survey readiness, support emergency preparedness, and address operational risks.
-
Work closely with the Executive Director and fellow leaders to improve service and support the community as occupancy grows.
What You’ll Bring
-
At least five years of operational experience at the administrative leadership level in a Continuing Care Retirement Community or equivalent setting.
-
Strong knowledge of facilities operations, building systems, preventive maintenance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
-
Demonstrated success managing projects, budgets, vendors, and multiple operational priorities.
-
A record of coaching staff, developing leaders, and building collaborative teams.
-
Clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to follow through when details, deadlines, and competing needs demand attention.
-
A commitment to serving older adults and creating a positive experience for Residents and staff.
-
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with demonstrated success in facilities management, engineering, business administration, project management, financial management, or related areas.
-
Experience opening a new community or transitioning newly constructed facilities into operation is preferred.
