About the Opportunity

The Kensington White Plains is seeking an experienced, energetic, and relationship-driven Director of Community Relations to join our Sales & Marketing leadership team!

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on building meaningful relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and driving results while making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.

As our Director of Community Relations, you will play a key leadership role in driving occupancy, strengthening the sales pipeline, and expanding Kensington's presence throughout the community.

Working closely with the Executive Director and community leadership, you will lead sales initiatives, cultivate referral partnerships, oversee prospect engagement, and develop strategies that support occupancy, revenue, and community growth.

We are looking for someone who can combine strategic sales leadership with a hands-on, relationship-focused approach — someone who is equally comfortable developing a sales strategy, building a referral network, and personally guiding a family through their senior living journey.

Responsibilities to Include:

Sales Leadership & Occupancy Growth

  • Lead and execute sales strategies designed to achieve or exceed budgeted occupancy, move-in, revenue, and conversion goals.
  • Conduct personalized community tours, assess prospective resident needs, and guide qualified prospects through the sales, admission, and move-in process.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline through consistent prospect engagement, timely follow-up, and relationship development.
  • Monitor sales performance, occupancy trends, conversion rates, and revenue goals, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing action plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales documentation, lead activity, occupancy forecasts, suite inventory, and resident information within the community's property management and CRM systems.

Community Outreach & Referral Development

  • Build, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians, social workers, healthcare professionals, and other community referral partners.
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach plans that generate qualified leads and increase awareness of The Kensington White Plains.
  • Represent The Kensington at professional networking events, community functions, health fairs, and local organizations.
  • Maintain an organized referral source database, track outreach activity, and evaluate the effectiveness of referral relationships.
  • Coordinate follow-up with referral partners and strengthen ongoing relationships through consistent communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare and community partners to educate them on Kensington's services, care capabilities, and resident experience.

Marketing, Events & Strategic Planning

  • Develop and support quarterly sales, marketing, and community outreach plans aligned with occupancy and revenue objectives.
  • Plan and execute open houses, professional networking opportunities, educational programs, and special events designed to introduce prospective residents and referral partners to The Kensington.
  • Conduct competitive market analyses to evaluate pricing, services, amenities, occupancy trends, and community positioning.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen Kensington's market presence, differentiate our services, and respond to changing consumer needs.
  • Partner with community leadership on marketing initiatives, public relations efforts, and strategic recommendations to support continued growth.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Sales & Marketing team, and department leaders to ensure a coordinated approach to sales, admissions, and resident transitions.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members involved in the sales process, promoting accountability and exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance development of Sales & Marketing team members as needed.
  • Establish clear expectations, monitor progress toward goals, and promote a collaborative, results-oriented team environment.
  • Ensure seamless communication between sales and operations to create an exceptional experience for incoming residents and families.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five years of relevant leadership experience, preferably within senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related service-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success in sales leadership, business development, relationship management, and achieving measurable performance goals.
  • Experience in senior living sales, particularly within assisted living or memory care, strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the senior living marketplace, referral development, and the needs of older adults and their families.
  • A proven ability to build professional relationships and develop effective community outreach strategies.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience analyzing sales metrics, occupancy trends, budgets, and conversion performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and property management systems.
  • A proactive, self-motivated leadership style with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
  • A warm, energetic, and professional personality with a genuine passion for seniors and their families.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation for local outreach and professional networking activities.

Make an Impact. Build Relationships. Lead With Purpose.

At The Kensington, we believe that every relationship matters. From the first conversation with a prospective family to the moment a new resident joins our community, our Sales & Marketing team plays an essential role in bringing Our Promise to life.

As Director of Community Relations, you'll have the opportunity to combine your passion for people with your ability to drive results, strengthen community partnerships, and contribute to the continued success of The Kensington White Plains.

If you're a motivated sales leader who values meaningful connections, takes pride in achieving goals, and believes that exceptional senior living begins with exceptional relationships, we would love to meet you!
