Director of Day Habilitation Services (NJ)
Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of community-based habilitation programs, manage staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate services for individuals with disabilities.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of one to four programs in a community including organization and implementation of direct supports, person-centered planning, and implementation, health care, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, recruiting, retention, staffing, training, safety, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment.
- Manage program staff members including performance evaluations, scheduling, and orientation.
- Make recommendations and/or decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, corrective action, and terminations.
- Manage the implementation of program planning; monitor delivery of services and supports; ensure services are consistent, engaging, and relevant to the individuals served.
- Must be available on-call to support staff, find coverage or cover shifts as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, caregivers, community organizations, and funding agencies to enhance collaboration and support networks
- Oversee program budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to sustain organizational growth and stability
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and best practices in behavioral health and social work
- Lead efforts in community outreach to raise awareness about the program’s services and expand its impact.
- Assists in the development of policies, procedures and methods of operation in accordance with Federal, State, City and agency regulations.
- Conducts meetings on a regularly scheduled basis to disseminate information pertinent to
the operation of the program and agency. - Ensures coordination between transportation and program operations.
- Oversees all support services within the facility, i.e., housekeeping, storeroom, building maintenance, which includes all outside contracts (security, pest control, business machines, HVAC contracts).
