Director of Development - OVCA

Position Summary The Director of Development manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors rated $25,000 and above, including alumni and friends of the College. Responsible for developing personalized strategies for engagement and solicitation that maximize each prospect's philanthropic capacity and support for the assigned unit's funding priorities. Duties Responsibilities Actively manages a portfolio of major and planned gift donors rated $25,000 and above, employing appropriate strategies and tactics in prospect and portfolio management. This may include individuals, corporations and foundations. Identifies, qualifies, cultivates and solicits alumni and friends in support of unit and University priorities. Meets or exceeds annual performance metrics, including approximately 120 visits per year with UIC alumni and donors to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donations. Collaborates with the dean, department heads, faculty and other key partners across Advancement and unit to build a compelling case for support. Presents the unit's funding opportunities articulately, persuasively, and with confidence. Prepares and presents proposals to prospects and donors, working with central communications and donor relations when appropriate. Partners with unit leadership, Advancement colleagues, faculty, and volunteers to develop and promote compelling engagement opportunities and relationships with assigned prospects to maximize their financial support of the unit's fundraising priorities. Facilitates and coordinates all communications with assigned prospects and among prospects' University relationships. Tracks development activity and donor interactions by entering key interactions and strategies into the fundraising database. Works closely with OVCA colleagues including prospect development, research, stewardship and donor relations, and alumni engagement to enhance the donor and prospect experience. Participates in unit- and University-wide events at which alumni, friends, donors. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
