Discussion

The Eagle Care Mobile Director provides programmatic and operational leadership for Faulkner University's Eagle Care Mobile Health Network, a pro bono rural health initiative that combines two mobile healthcare platforms with centralized Eagle Support Center and an integrated system of telehealth, remote patient monitoring, patient navigation, referral management, medication-access coordination, rehabilitation support, and continuity-of-care services supporting mobile and rural outreach operations.

The Director leads day-to-day implementation of the approved Rural Health Initiative; directs Eagle Care personnel, deployments, Support Center operations, partnerships, technology-enabled care, quality improvement, program resource coordination, performance measurement, and reporting; and helps ensure coordinated preventive, primary, chronic-disease, maternal-health, behavioral-health, rehabilitation, education, and care-coordination services for rural Alabama communities.

Working with the Dean's Office, Medical Director and other clinical authorities, and appropriate University offices, UAB, community providers, and other approved partners. The Director advances access to compassionate care while strengthening rather than replacing existing rural healthcare resources.

Summary of Duties:

  • Coordinates with the Dean's Office, Grants Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Risk Management, Information Technology, Facilities, Marketing and Communications, and other University offices needed for successful Eagle Care implementation
  • Oversees operational integration and secure use of Athenahealth, approved telehealth systems, remote patient monitoring platforms, medication-access and adherence resources, care-coordination tools, and other approved technologies across mobile and Support Center workflows
  • Plans operations toward approved first-year goals, including service in eight initial counties, at least 15 rural sites, 1,500 unique patients, approximately 2,500-4,000 patient encounters, and applicable telehealth, RPM, referral, navigation, rehabilitation, and follow-up targets
  • Establishes coordinated divisions of responsibility among the Advanced Practice Provider, Registered Nurse (RN), RN Case Manager, and Medical Assistants so that clinical follow-up, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, referrals, navigation, medication access, rehabilitation support, and Support Center operations are appropriately assigned without unnecessary duplication
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with UAB Montgomery Regional Medical Campus and Internal Medicine Residency, rural hospitals and healthcare providers, pharmacies, rehabilitation providers, adaptive-equipment and assistive-technology resources, public agencies, schools, faith based and community organizations, host sites, technology partners, and other organizations supporting rural-health

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in healthcare administration, public health, nursing, health sciences, business administration, nonprofit or public administration, or a closely related field required; relevant master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations, community or public health, ambulatory or mobile care, rural health, or grant-funded program management required, including at least two years of personnel supervision or management
  • Experience with rural or mobile healthcare, telehealth or remote patient monitoring, care coordination, clinical operations, multi-partner initiatives, quality improvement, and grant compliance or reporting preferred
  • Current or prior healthcare professional licensure is preferred but not required, this position does not replace the clinical authority of the Medical Director of other licensed clinical leaders
