Position Opportunity
The Director of Enterprise Business Systems is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of Alamance Foods' enterprise business systems. This position serves as the primary owner of Sage ERP, Scanco Warehouse Management (WMS), and future enterprise technology initiatives, ensuring business processes, system architecture, and cross-functional operations remain aligned with the company's long-term growth strategy.
Working closely with executive leadership, this role partners across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, and Information Technology to optimize business processes, improve data integrity, increase operational efficiency, and lead future digital transformation initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Enterprise Systems Leadership
- Serve as the enterprise owner of Sage ERP and Scanco Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Develop and execute the long-term Enterprise Business Systems roadmap.
- Establish system governance, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies that improve operational effectiveness and business performance.
ERP & Warehouse Systems
- Lead the ongoing optimization of Sage ERP and Scanco WMS.
- Own ERP configuration, integrations, enhancements, upgrades, and release management.
- Ensure inventory, manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, warehouse, and financial processes remain integrated across all enterprise systems.
- Oversee system security, user roles, permissions, and master data governance.
Business Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardize business processes.
- Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reduce manual work through automation and improved system utilization.
- Develop standardized workflows across multiple departments and facilities.
Project Leadership
- Lead enterprise system implementations and major enhancement projects.
- Establish project governance, timelines, resource planning, budgets, and risk management.
- Coordinate internal resources, external vendors, and third-party consultants.
- Provide executive leadership with regular project status updates and strategic recommendations.
Data & Reporting
- Improve enterprise reporting capabilities across the organization.
- Ensure enterprise-wide data integrity, governance, and reporting accuracy.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and business intelligence reporting.
- Support ongoing business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Operations, Customer Service, Quality, Human Resources, Engineering, and Information Technology.
- Translate operational requirements into scalable enterprise technology solutions.
- Drive collaboration between business units to improve operational efficiency and system effectiveness.
Organizational Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop future Enterprise Business Systems resources.
- Develop training programs, documentation, and user adoption strategies.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation standards, and support processes.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for enterprise business systems.
