JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Facilities Planning and Construction serves as the College’s representative for capital projects and facility renovations, overseeing and coordinating planning, design, and construction activities from concept through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered efficiently, minimize disruption to campus operations, and align with institutional priorities, regulatory requirements, and stewardship of resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the College’s representative for capital projects, renovations, and remodel work
- Manage projects from concept through design, construction, and closeout
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment with institutional standards
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Oversee construction activities, including site visits, inspections, and quality assurance
- Review contractor pay applications, change orders, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with procurement requirements and contract terms
- Plan and manage renovation and remodel projects within occupied facilities, including phasing and minimizing disruption to campus operations
- Coordinate with campus stakeholders to define project scope, timing, and operational impacts
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and accessibility requirements
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations to administration
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Facilities to ensure alignment between project delivery and ongoing operations
- Assist in development and execution of the College’s capital improvement plan
- Serve on committees as assigned
