About the role
As Director of Finance & Business Support, you will lead a high-performing Finance team, partner with senior leaders to drive business results, and provide strategic financial insight that supports operational excellence. You will work closely with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, legal counsel, insurance providers, and tax consultants to ensure effective management of the hotel's assets and financial performance.
Key responsibilities
Lead and develop the hotel's Finance team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to drive financial and commercial performance.
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, outlooks, and financial planning processes.
Analyse financial results and provide clear insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Oversee cash flow, working capital, credit and collections, purchasing and financial controls.
Ensure financial reporting, reconciliations and accounting practices are accurate, timely and compliant.
Ensure compliance with IHG policies, procedures and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
Manage internal and external audit processes and maintain strong relationships with owners, auditors, banking partners and other external stakeholders.
Oversee capital expenditure to ensure investment remains aligned with approved business cases and objectives.
Partner with department leaders to strengthen financial accountability and commercial awareness across the hotel.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and overall business performance.
Ensure appropriate banking arrangements, financial records and delegation of authority are maintained.
Coach and develop Finance team members, identifying opportunities for career growth and progression.
About you
Proven experience in a senior Finance leadership role, ideally within the hotel or hospitality industry.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting experience.
Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into practical business recommendations.
Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance.
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a Finance team.
Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making through commercial insights and business partnering.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline is preferred.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge senior leaders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a high level of attention to detail.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating environment.
