The Director of Finance is responsible for providing financial leadership in the financial area of the Hotel by supplying management with guidance and training. He/she is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all local and International financial regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

How your day looks like?

  • Support General Manager in day to day operation of hotel.

  • Manage and communicate cash flow related issues including accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds.

  • Ensure all laws and fiscal regulations of the country of location affecting financial matters of the hotel are complied with, including proper permits and licenses for matters such as currency transfers.

  • Safekeep all leases, contracts, and other legal records and documents which may affect the financial status of the hotel.

  • Inspect and approve daily reports of operations, Monthly Reports, monthly trends of operations reports, Monthly source of business report and Monthly Auditor’s Checklist reports.

  • Prepare, inspect and/or approve Daily Revenue Report, Monthly Financial Report, Monthly Operation Performance Report, Monthly Management Report and other reports requested by management and owners.

  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording in accordance with internationally established guidelines.

  • Investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.

  • Monitor the capital planning process, including return on capital improvements, bid process, scope of work and specifications.

  • Ensure hotel compliance with regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and proper execution of operational taxes.

  • Assist management in enforcing compliance on all these items.

  • Analyze financial data and operations to advise management in maintaining the hotel’s financial objectives. Ensure all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, are reconciled on a timely basis.
