As our Director of Financial Accounting, you'll partner closely with the Vice President, Finance & Analytics to lead key accounting operations across the organization. You'll oversee a talented corporate accounting team, guide critical financial processes, ensure reporting excellence, and help shape financial strategies that support our mission and growth.

What You'll Do
π Lead Financial Excellence
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all facilities across the health system.
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Monitor financial results, identify trends and variances, and guide resolution of issues.
π Drive Revenue Accounting Success
- Lead accounting teams responsible for revenue recognition and reporting.
- Analyze performance metrics and provide insights that support informed decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders to explain budget-to-actual variances and improve financial outcomes.
π° Champion Grant & Contract Accounting
- Direct accounting and reporting for federal, state, local, and private grants.
- Oversee grant expenditures, invoicing, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and stewardship of restricted funds.
β Strengthen Financial Integrity
- Lead account reconciliation activities and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes.
- Support compliance requirements and external audit activities.
π€ Partner Across the Organization
- Collaborate with facility leaders during annual budgeting processes.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations that support strategic planning.
- Build strong relationships across departments and functions.
π Develop High-Performing Teams
- Inspire, mentor, and empower accounting leaders and staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit
Experience
βοΈ 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance or accounting
β Preferred: Healthcare accounting experience and public accounting experience
Education
βοΈ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
β Preferred: Master's Degree in Accounting
Certifications
β CPA strongly preferred
Skills You'll Bring
β Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
β Experience leading financial close and accounting operations
β Strong relationship management skills, including working with external auditors
β Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
β Ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate it clearly
β Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development abilities
β Strong project management and organizational skills
β Excellent written and verbal communication skills
β Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
