Director of Financial Projects

General Purpose
The Director of Financial Projects will be responsible for project administration of South Carolina Housing Trust Fund applications and all tasks related to HTF and other relatable projects for the Babcock Center, Inc. and for external organizations that contract with Babcock Center for these services. The position is responsible for ensuring that supportive housing projects are pursued, filed, documented, monitored, and completed in accordance with applicable SC Housing requirements and organizational standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete SC Housing Trust Fund application and forgivable loan process for Babcock Center, Inc., from initial project identification through application submission, approval, documentation, construction or repair coordination, closeout, and compliance monitoring.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on SC Housing Trust Fund programs, including housing preservation, accessibility modifications, supportive housing, repair funding, eligibility documentation, approved sponsor requirements, and forgivable loan obligations.
- Coordinate with internal departments, homeowners, families, contractors, funders, government agencies, nonprofit partners, and community organizations to gather required documents and move projects forward efficiently.
- Prepare, review, assemble, and submit complete and accurate application packages.
- Oversee timelines, deliverables, records, and reporting requirements to ensure projects remain compliant with SC Housing rules, funding conditions, organizational policies, and all applicable deadlines.
- Provide either full process management or oversight support for external organizations that contract with Babcock Center for SC Housing Trust Fund services, depending on each contract’s scope of work.
- Develop service models, workflows, checklists, tracking tools, fee structures, and quality-control processes for Babcock Center’s contracted SC Housing Trust Fund services.
- Identify, cultivate, and pursue relationships with organizations that may benefit from contracting with Babcock Center for SC Housing Trust Fund application, compliance, and project-management support.
- Represent Babcock Center professionally in communications with SC Housing, partner organizations, disability-service providers, governmental entities, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor program updates, funding availability, application cycles, policy changes, training opportunities, and compliance guidance related to SC Housing Trust Fund programs.
- Maintain organized records for each project and ensure appropriate confidentiality, documentation retention, audit readiness, and reporting accuracy.
- Advise executive leadership on opportunities, risks, capacity needs, and strategic growth related to SC Housing Trust Fund services.
- Support, prepare, review, or manage other grant applications, funding submissions, financial documentation packages, compliance reports, and special projects as assigned by executive leadership.
