Job Summary
The Human Resource Director leads and directs the functions of the Human Resources (HR) Department including oversight of the hiring and onboarding of staff employees, pay administration, benefits, and leave, and enforcing Firm policies and practices. The Human Resource Director works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Essential duties are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.
- Develop and execute the Firm’s talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. Lead the talent acquisition process for support staff.
- Develop and execute the Firm’s Annual Performance Management process. Monitor various aspects of employee performance, assessing the need for training, and handle disciplinary processes.
- Oversee and provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, managers and supervisors, and other personnel when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Review and analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive pay structures and other incentives to ensure the ability to attract and retain top talent.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices, including various statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies relevant to computer systems and software programs in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Oversee maintenance of paper and electronic files in compliance with the Firm’s policies.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
