Director of Nursing

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Contract Director of Nursing to provide clinical and regulatory oversight on a non-full-time, contracted basis. This role will support agency compliance, quality standards, and a small patient census, with only a limited number of patient visits expected each year. This is a contract opportunity and is not a full-time position.

The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory experience, sound clinical judgment, and a working knowledge of home health regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance: Oversee adherence to state nursing board requirements, agency licensing standards, and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
• Clinical oversight: Review nursing practices, care plans, and documentation to support quality care and patient safety standards.
• Licensing maintenance: Support credentialing, renewals, and compliance audit preparation to help maintain the agency’s active licensure.
• Limited patient care: Provide oversight and care for a small number of patients annually; this role does not involve a high-volume patient caseload.
• Collaboration: Work with agency leadership and compliance staff to address compliance needs and maintain operational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing program; master’s degree preferred.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• 3–5 years of hands-on patient care experience.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or leadership experience, such as RN Supervisor, RN Manager, Charge Nurse, Unit Supervisor, or Shift Supervisor.
• Home health leadership experience preferred.
• Experience supporting or managing healthcare compliance requirements.

Compensation Structure

• This is a contract role and is not a salaried, full-time position.
• Compensation includes a fixed fee for ongoing Director of Nursing responsibilities and agency oversight.
• Separate per-visit compensation is provided for patient care visits, as applicable.
