Director of Payments
You will lead payment operations, fraud risk, cash management, business intelligence, and strategic initiatives. You will develop payment strategies and operational plans, set performance metrics, oversee vendors, maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, improve controls, and optimize payment and risk service levels.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and evaluate the Payments team.
- Develop short- and long-term payment strategies, operational capabilities, and tactical plans.
- Set payment objectives and key performance metrics.
- Lead payment innovation projects.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for payments.
- Lead payment fraud strategies.
- Identify and develop payments vendor partnerships.
- Review laws and regulations and ensure payment systems and policies comply.
- Contribute to the payment roadmap and payment-related features and experiences.
- Evaluate internal process controls, identify payment operations risks, and recommend mitigations.
- Analyze, implement, and optimize payments and risk service levels, quality, and key performance indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience managing resources in payments and/or risk.
- At least 5 years of payments or gambling experience preferred.
- Understanding of payment laws and regulations and the ability to ensure compliance controls.
- Knowledge of the financial industry, card processing, card networks, operations, and payment back-office functions.
- Knowledge of wire and ACH processing.
- Leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution, and team development skills.
- Business acumen in fast-paced and ambiguous early-stage environments.
- Analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and implementing process changes and improvements.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and demonstrate self-leadership.
