Job Summary

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all quality assurance, quality control, and quality systems functions across Plaskolite’s global operations. This role ensures the company’s products consistently meet or exceed internal standards, customer expectations and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Director of QA oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Plaskolite’s Quality Management System (QMS) to drive standardization, process capability, and operational excellence. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to strengthen quality performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and promote a proactive culture of quality — aligned with the “One Plaskolite” vision of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This position requires diligence, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all quality assurance and control activities across Plaskolite’s manufacturing sites and business units.

· Develop and implement the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.

· Lead and mentor Quality Managers, Supervisors, and Engineers, building a high-performing team that supports operational excellence and continuous improvement.

· Facilitate the publishing and communication of company-wide quality objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics to measure and improve performance based on the input of Process Owners.

· Drive standardization of quality systems, processes, and documentation across all facilities to ensure consistency and compliance.

· Serve as the company’s primary liaison with major customers regarding quality performance, audits, and improvement initiatives.

· Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and MFG sites, to address customer-specific quality requirements, audits, and documentation needs.

· Coordinate with manufacturing sites, the resolution of critical quality issues and customer complaints through data-driven root cause analysis (RCA) and effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

· Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure suppliers meet Plaskolite’s standards for quality, delivery, and reliability.

· Partner with Product Development and Engineering to integrate quality and reliability requirements into new products, material and manufacturing processes.

· Lead quality review meetings, providing executive-level insights on performance, risk, and continuous improvement opportunities.

· Support Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to improve process efficiency and product quality.

· Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies, testing methods, and data analytics tools to enhance quality monitoring and reporting capabilities.

· Manage Corporate Quality budget, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure effective support for operational and strategic objectives.

· Represent the Quality function in cross-functional executive meetings, business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.

· Ensure that all quality functions and personnel adhere to company safety policies, environmental regulations, and ethical business practices.

· Build and maintain a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence within the Quality organization.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in

o Engineering

o Quality, Operation, or Manufacturing Management

o Chemistry, Polymer Science or related technical fields.

· 10–15+ years in quality, manufacturing, or operational excellence roles.

· 5–8+ years managing teams and managers

Skills and Competencies:

· Professional Certifications (highly valued, not required):

o ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE)

o ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

o Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt

o ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor

o Lean Manufacturing certifications

· Strategic quality planning and deployment

· Risk management and failure mode analysis (FMEA)

· Customer-facing leadership during escalations

· Change management and culture transformation

· Data-driven decision-making

· Effective communication with executives and external stakeholders
