MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education – Graduation from an accredited radiology program from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience – Prefer five (5) years as a radiographer with two (2) years supervisory experience.

Licenses & Certification – Current registration with ARRT or equivalent as a technologist. CPR certification preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

Under executive direction, coordinates all radiology department activities for MCN DOH Hospital Services and Clinic Services including budget development, quality assurance and project management. Is responsible for participating in staffing activities, for directing and evaluating radiology staff; for data collection and reporting; manages contracts and negotiations and manages compliance initiatives. Responsible for oversight of equipment acquisition, deployment and maintenance management. Provides technical assistance and guidance to all levels of management. This is an Exempt position as applicable to the provisions of the FLSA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in both an office setting and in an ambulatory or hospital environment. There is possible exposure to infectious communicable disease, potentially hazardous chemicals, and biohazardous materials. Incumbent must be aware of all risks involved and be willing to take precautions as required and requested. Special attire may be required as protection against infection and radiation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work requires long periods of standing, walking and office work. Occasional bending, lifting, stretching and positioning patients. Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds is required to perform positional duties. Incumbent must be able to cope with constant changes in a stressful environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:

  1. Participates in the strategic planning of the department; plans, directs, and coordinates department-wide activities; provides advice, counsel, and education to the staff.

  2. Administers finances; directs preparation of various budgets; negotiates contracts.

  3. Maintains open communication and serves as liaison to MCN DOH personnel to assure coordination of radiology operations.

  4. Provides administrative, operational, and clinical oversight for all radiology modalities across hospital and clinic services within the MCNDoH, ensuring consistency in quality, compliance, and service delivery.

  5. Directs, evaluates, and supplies radiology staff across all MCN DOH hospital and clinic facilities to ensure standardized practices and regulatory compliance.

  6. Oversees project management.

  7. Establish, review and revise policies and procedures for the operations of the Radiology Services function.

  8. Responsible for maintaining professional licensures, certifications/registrations and required continuing education as mandated by ARRT.

  9. Coordinates with contract radiologists and provides general supervision and ensures regulations and standards are met.

  10. Required to perform direct patient care radiological tasks such as X-rays and other imaging procedures as needed.

  11. Will provided coverage in absence of other radiology department staff if necessary.

  12. Performs other duties as required.
