Shaner Hotels is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the sales strategy and revenue growth for our Jacksonville Holiday Inn. This leadership role is responsible for driving top-line revenue through strategic business development, market expansion, and the successful management of all aspects of the Sales Department. What You'll Do
As the Director of Sales, you will:
- Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to achieve and exceed hotel revenue and budget goals.
- Identify, solicit, and secure new business while strengthening relationships with existing corporate, association, government, sports, leisure, and group accounts.
- Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities and market segments to maximize hotel revenue.
- Develop promotional packages and marketing campaigns to increase occupancy during need periods.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, networking functions, and community organizations to generate new business and increase brand awareness.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Sales team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with all Shaner Hotels, brand, and hotel sales policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and department leaders to develop and execute hotel business strategies.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual Sales Department budget while maintaining appropriate cost controls.
- Maintain current knowledge of the local market, competitive landscape, and customer trends to develop effective sales strategies.
- Communicate effectively across all hotel departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences and successful execution of group business.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as business needs require.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Clean driving history with a valid driver's license
- Proven success in hotel sales, business development, and revenue generation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills.
- Working knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality sales processes.
- Experience developing and managing departmental budgets.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with hotel sales and marketing systems and tools.
- Ability to interpret business documents, banquet event orders (BEOs), operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of the local market, area businesses, attractions, and economic trends.
- Experience working with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, or other major hotel brands preferred.
