Director of Software Engineering

Salary: 150-300k THB

An exciting opportunity has opened with a fast-growing international technology company building sophisticated enterprise software used by financial-services organisations globally.

We are looking for a Director of Engineering who combines strong people leadership with genuine technical depth. This is not a purely managerial role — you should still enjoy getting close to the technology, reviewing architecture and code, solving difficult engineering problems and coaching experienced engineers.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organisation of approximately 10–20 engineers, including senior engineers and technical leads.
• Remain technically hands-on through code reviews, architecture reviews, system design and complex problem solving.
• Work closely with Product from early-stage requirements and prototypes through to production delivery.
• Challenge technical solutions and ensure systems remain scalable, maintainable, secure and reliable.
• Establish strong engineering practices across code quality, automated testing, APIs, CI/CD, observability and production readiness.
• Coach senior engineers and develop future Engineering leaders.
• Take ownership of complex production, integration and customer-related technical issues.
• Partner with Product and client-facing teams to turn complex business requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
• Drive effective use of AI-assisted software development, including coding, debugging, testing, documentation and engineering productivity.
• Improve delivery predictability while maintaining high technical standards.

What we're looking for

• Approximately 10+ years in Software Engineering, with substantial Engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading 10–15+ engineers, ideally including senior engineers or Engineering Leads.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to independently evaluate architecture and technical solutions.
• Comfortable working with C#/.NET and reviewing C# code. You do not necessarily need to have spent your entire career in Microsoft technologies.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, integrations, SQL/databases, cloud architecture and modern enterprise software development.
• Experience with Azure would be advantageous.
• Background in B2B SaaS, FinTech, financial software, ERP, transaction platforms or similarly complex enterprise systems is highly desirable.
• Comfortable partnering directly with Product and business stakeholders rather than operating Engineering as a separate function.
• Practical interest or experience using AI within the software-development lifecycle.
• Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professionally fluent Thai and English.
