Description: Director of Special Services
Requirements/Performance Responsibilities:
- New Jersey Principal Certification
- A minimum of five years' experience as a Child Study Team Member or Special Education Teacher or Student Services position
- Special Education experience in administration or alternatives that the Superintendent and Board may find appropriate
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of special education law, code and guidelines
- Oversee the district special education programs, child study team, school nursing services, and other areas as directed
- Responsible for state and federal reporting, IDEA, SEMI, and ESSA
- Familiar with Frontline and Genesis platforms
- Primary responsibility for all child find activities and community outreach programs
- Knowledge in developing and implementing in-district programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
