What you’ll do:

  • Plans, organizes, and prepares departmental tactical and strategic plans as well as designs appropriate organizational structures for areas of responsibility.
  • Lead continuous performance improvement efforts, monitor patient outcomes, and address risk management or patient safety issues.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with members of the surgical or procedural team to allocate resources to promote safe, efficient, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care.
  • Organizes and delegates work in an effective manner, establishing appropriate time frames for completion of work, and providing necessary leadership to ensure effective work results.
  • Selects, develops and counsels staff consistent with good human resources management practices; creates an environment which encourages and allows participation in order to promote retention, productivity, employee safety and quality, customer orientated staff.
  • Partner closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing teams, and ancillary departments to optimize block scheduling and daily workflow.
  • Develops program and collaborative strategies to enhance growth and revenue for service areas; assures that changes in services reimbursement regulations are responded to ensuring revenue maximization.
  • Plans, prepares, implements, monitors and controls assigned areas of operation and capital budgets to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of the organization.
  • Ensure all units maintain strict compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, AORN, and state health department guideline
  • Ensures quality nursing care delivery in the clinical area based on law, practice standards, accrediting body standards, the philosophy, policies and procedures for the Nursing Department.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive nursing leadership/management experience, ideally with extensive time in the Operating Room or perioperative environments

License/Certification: Current license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Ohio, BLS required.
