Department Overview
The Office of Development is responsible for generating the philanthropic revenue that fuels UWGA’s mission to improve child well-being and advance equity across the region. Within the Office of Development, the Partnerships Team cultivates and manages relationships with corporate and community partners, identifies and secures new business opportunities, and nurtures short- and long-term partnerships aligned with UWGA’s strategic priorities.
The Partnerships Team also works collaboratively across Major Gifts, Volunteer Engagement, Donor Engagement, and other internal teams to offer corporate partners meaningful opportunities to engage through workplace giving, volunteering, sponsorships, marketing, storytelling, and other purpose-driven experiences.
Role Overview
The Director, Partnerships is a strategic, results-driven relationship leader responsible for advancing corporate partnership strategy, generating new revenue, managing a portfolio of corporate partners, and guiding the work of one direct report. This role combines business development, corporate engagement, financial forecasting, partnership innovation, and people leadership to grow revenue and deepen partner impact in alignment with United Way of Greater Atlanta’s mission.
The Director will lead proactive prospecting and pipeline development, cultivate and grow corporate relationships, support customized partner engagement strategies, and identify new opportunities to connect companies and their employees to UWGA’s work. This position is both strategic and execution-oriented, requiring a leader who can set direction, coach and support staff, manage complex relationships, and deliver measurable results.
This role is ideal for a high-energy, collaborative professional who is motivated by ambitious goals, skilled at opening doors and closing opportunities, and able to translate partner interests into meaningful investment, engagement, and community impact.
