Director Sales - Growth

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director Sales - Growth based in United States.

This is a high-impact sales leadership opportunity focused on driving revenue growth within a fast-paced B2B technology environment.
You will lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals while creating a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
The role combines strategic territory planning with hands-on sales leadership, pipeline management, and new business development.
You will help sales representatives maximize their potential by providing coaching, clear expectations, and practical guidance throughout the sales cycle.
Working closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and other teams, you will turn market insights and customer needs into actionable growth strategies.
The ideal leader is commercially driven, highly attentive to deal execution, and comfortable operating in a rapidly changing market.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales representatives by establishing clear expectations, KPIs, performance standards, and individual development plans.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance management to help account executives improve their sales effectiveness and achieve or exceed targets.
  • Train and reinforce the organization's sales methodology and processes, helping representatives maximize their potential and improve execution throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop and execute territory or market-segment sales strategies designed to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new customer acquisition, account expansion, and upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain strong oversight of the sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are actively progressed and leads are consistently converted into customers.
  • Monitor individual and team sales activity, forecasts, results, and key performance indicators, using data to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with key customers, prospects, and partners, acting as an escalation point for important accounts and complex sales opportunities.
  • Promote a customer-centric sales culture focused on understanding client needs and delivering strong experiences throughout the buying journey.
  • Use CRM platforms to manage leads, opportunities, customer interactions, forecasting, and sales reporting.
  • Analyze sales performance, market conditions, competitive activity, and customer trends to improve sales processes and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Provide senior leadership with regular updates on performance, forecasts, market dynamics, and strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns and lead-generation initiatives and work with Product and Customer Success teams to align sales strategies with customer needs.
  • Contribute to sales collateral, product presentations, proposals, and other resources that support successful deal execution.
  • Share customer and market insights with Product and Marketing teams to inform competitive positioning, product development, and go-to-market priorities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving market dynamics, while representing the organization at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Operate effectively in a virtual and fast-paced environment, with travel as required to support customers, prospects, and business priorities.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in sales or business operations, with a strong record of commercial performance.
    • 2+ years of experience directly managing HCM Account Executives or comparable enterprise/B2B sales professionals.
    • Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and developing sales teams with accountability for individual and collective performance.
    • Experience selling payroll, HR, time and attendance, or related workforce management solutions to major accounts and large, complex organizations.
    • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, customer needs, market dynamics, pipeline development, and revenue-growth strategies.
    • Proven ability to build and execute sales strategies that generate new business, expand existing accounts, and improve revenue performance.
    • Strong deal-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coach teams through complex opportunities and sales cycles.
    • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or comparable systems.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, forecasts, KPIs, and market trends and translate them into actionable decisions.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build credibility across customers and internal teams.
    • Customer-focused mindset and the ability to understand business challenges and position solutions around customer outcomes.
    • Strong adaptability, decisiveness, and resilience, with the ability to perform effectively in a rapidly evolving market.
    • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and other business teams.
    • Willingness and ability to travel as required and work effectively in a virtual environment.

      • Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 annually, with actual compensation based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
