Real Chemistry is looking for a Director, Social Media to join our growing Activation team and lead smart, platform-native social work that drives meaningful impact for healthcare clients.

For us, social isn’t just a channel — it’s a craft. Our Social Media team blends deep healthcare expertise with sharp strategy, standout content, paid media fluency and data-driven execution to help clients show up with purpose across platforms. As Director, you’ll be a day-to-day lead across multiple books of business, helping teams move from big ideas to smart execution while coaching people, guiding clients and raising the quality of the work.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. This role will primarily support East Coast working hours; candidates based in other time zones may be considered if they are comfortable working East Coast hours.

What You’ll Do:

Social Leadership, Strategy & Business Impact

  • Lead integrated social media programs across organic, paid and influencer workstreams, translating strategy into smart, compliant, platform-native execution.
  • Lead complex client engagements with confidence, helping teams deliver strategic, high-quality work that drives measurable impact.
  • Bring clarity and momentum to client programs by pairing strong creative instincts, sharp copy and smart storytelling with organized, insight-led execution.

Client Partnership, Meetings & Storytelling

  • Serve as a trusted day-to-day client lead, running recurring, ad-hoc and planning meetings with confidence, clarity and a little spark.
  • Connect the dots across social, paid, influencer and performance data, turning analytics into clear insights, recommendations and senior-level narratives.
  • Stay one step ahead of client needs, bringing thoughtful solutions, clear next steps and a steady hand to help programs run smoothly from planning through execution.

AI, Innovation & Smarter Social Operations

  • Champion responsible AI adoption across social workflows, using tools like Microsoft Copilot, Canva, social listening platforms and analytics dashboards to improve research, ideation, content development, reporting and presentations.
  • Help teams use AI with good judgment, keeping healthcare accuracy, client privacy, compliance and brand standards at the center.

Business Growth & New Opportunities

  • Partner with colleagues to identify opportunities to expand, refine or elevate social media programming across existing accounts.
  • Contribute to growth opportunities by shaping smart social POVs, strategic recommendations and pitch-ready thinking.

This Position is a Perfect Fit for You if:

Mindset, Ownership & Leadership Style

  • You’re a confident, curious social leader who loves the pace of platform change but keeps the work grounded, strategic and reputable.
  • You can zoom out to spot patterns, connect insights to business opportunities and zoom in to make the strategy, copy, storytelling and details sharper.
  • You enjoy coaching people, building trust with clients and living our values: Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always and Accountability with an “I.”

What Experience & Skills You Should have:

Experience, Leadership & Healthcare Context

  • 7–10 years of social media, digital marketing or integrated communications experience, ideally in healthcare, biotech, pharma or another regulated industry.
  • Agency experience in a client-facing role, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, assignments and stakeholders at once.
  • Experience leading teams, managing performance and supporting the development of direct or indirect reports.
  • Comfort balancing hands-on client work with team leadership, internal initiatives and business development support.
  • College degree required; BA or equivalent preferred; understanding of FDA, fair balance, adverse event and client review considerations preferred.

Social, Paid, Influencer, Analytics & Tools

  • Deep understanding of social platforms, audience behavior and content best practices across organic, paid and influencer-led programs.
  • Experience building strategic plans, channel recommendations, paid social approaches and insight-led performance narratives for senior stakeholders.
  • Fluency with social buying, publishing, listening, analytics and AI-enabled tools, including platforms such as Meta Business Manager, LinkedIn Ads, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, Microsoft Office and Canva.
  • Strong communication, organization and judgment, with the ability to synthesize inputs, shape strong copy, delegate effectively and keep work moving.
