Cohesity is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director, Solution Test Engineering to lead our global solution validation and end-to-end customer workflow testing organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring that Cohesity's products and platforms are validated in real-world customer environments and complex enterprise ecosystems before reaching production.

As organizations increasingly deploy Cohesity across hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, AI, data protection, and modern application environments, solution-level quality has become a key differentiator. This leader will establish and execute the strategy for validating integrated customer solutions spanning product engineering, cloud services, ecosystem partners, hyperscalers, security platforms, enterprise applications, and modern workloads.

The successful candidate will build and scale a world-class Solution Test Engineering organization that focuses on customer use cases, deployment architectures, interoperability, upgradeability, scalability, resiliency, and business continuity outcomes.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the long-term vision and strategy for Cohesity's Solution Test Engineering function.
• Build, lead, and mentor a globally distributed team of managers, architects, solution test engineers, and automation specialists.
• Establish a customer-centric testing strategy focused on real-world deployment scenarios and business outcomes.
• Drive organizational excellence through metrics, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.

Solution Validation

• Lead end-to-end testing of integrated solutions across Data Security, Cyber Resilience, AI, Cloud, SaaS, and Data Management platforms.
• Validate customer deployment architectures across on-premises, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage of deployment, upgrades, migration, backup, recovery, DR, security, and operational workflows.
• Develop validation strategies for complex enterprise ecosystems involving VMware, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, security vendors, databases, and enterprise applications.

Engineering Excellence

• Drive automation-first practices across solution testing, deployment validation, interoperability certification, and lifecycle testing.
• Build scalable test frameworks, simulation environments, and solution labs that accurately represent customer deployments.
• Improve release quality through earlier identification of system-level risks and cross-product integration defects.
• Establish meaningful KPIs around solution readiness, customer-impacting defects, interoperability coverage, and deployment success rates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Engineering, Product Management, Customer Success, Technical Support, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, and partner organizations.
• Influence product architecture and roadmap decisions through test-driven insights and customer deployment learnings.
• Collaborate with strategic technology partners to certify and validate integrated solutions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on solution quality, release readiness, and customer adoption risks.

Customer & Market Focus

• Champion customer experience by proactively validating mission-critical workflows before product releases.
• Utilize customer escalations, field feedback, and operational telemetry to continuously improve testing coverage.
• Support strategic customer engagements and executive escalations by providing solution quality leadership.
• Drive validation for emerging AI-powered capabilities and next-generation customer workloads.

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, solution engineering, systems engineering, or platform validation.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and large engineering organizations.
• Proven track record building and scaling Solution Test Engineering, Systems Validation, Integration Testing, or Customer Validation organizations.
• Deep understanding of enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or data management platforms.
• Strong experience with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and release engineering.
• Experience validating solutions across hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Demonstrated success collaborating across Product, Engineering, Support, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership teams.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

WE ARE EXTRA EXCITED IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Experience in data protection, cyber resilience, enterprise storage, SaaS platforms, or security products.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, virtualization platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience building customer-scale solution labs and interoperability certification programs.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled platforms and validation of AI-powered workflows.
• Track record of improving customer adoption, deployment success, and release quality through systemic solution testing initiatives.

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
