ABOUT THE ROLE
The Transformation Director is a senior role within Temenos' Strategy team, responsible for turning strategic priorities into actionable plans and driving their successful execution across the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will ensure that strategic initiatives are translated into robust, executable plans, that milestones are delivered on time, and that risks, dependencies and execution challenges are proactively addressed.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong strategic judgement, the ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively, and the drive to push initiatives forward in a complex global organisation. You will connect the dots across functions, break down organisational silos, anticipate execution challenges and ensure that critical issues are resolved before they jeopardise delivery.
While functional leaders remain accountable for executing their respective initiatives, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the overall strategic plan is delivered — going beyond monitoring progress to actively challenging, problem-solving and intervening where needed to maintain momentum.
This is not a traditional programme management or governance role. It sits at the intersection of strategy, transformation and execution, requiring someone who can operate at both the executive level and in the details when necessary to drive meaningful outcomes.
OPPORTUNITIES
You will:
- Translate strategy into executable plans: Work with senior leaders to convert strategic priorities into clear initiatives, milestones, deliverables, accountabilities and measurable outcomes.
- Stress-test execution plans: Challenge the robustness and feasibility of plans, including underlying assumptions, timelines, resource requirements, interdependencies and execution risks, ensuring they are sufficiently ambitious but achievable.
- Drive delivery of the strategic plan: Maintain an integrated view of strategic initiatives, proactively tracking progress against critical milestones and pushing initiative owners to deliver on their commitments.
- Identify and resolve execution challenges: Go beyond identifying delays or risks to understanding root causes, challenging proposed solutions and working with stakeholders to get initiatives back on track.
- Break down organisational silos: Proactively identify cross-functional dependencies and ensure that the right stakeholders engage, align and make necessary decisions at the right time.
- Drive senior stakeholder accountability: Constructively challenge senior leaders on progress, commitments and execution gaps, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow-through.
- Anticipate and escalate risks: Identify emerging risks, bottlenecks and competing priorities early, distinguishing issues that can be resolved operationally from those requiring executive intervention.
- Enable timely executive decision-making: Frame critical issues into clear options, trade-offs and recommendations, ensuring that decisions are escalated and resolved before they impact execution.
- Intervene on critical priorities: Take a hands-on role in addressing high-priority execution challenges, bringing structure to ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders and driving resolution where additional support is needed.
- Drive execution discipline: Establish an effective operating rhythm of milestone reviews, cross-functional working sessions, executive discussions and follow-ups to maintain delivery momentum.
- Provide actionable visibility to leadership: Develop concise, insight-driven reporting that highlights progress, execution risks, key decisions and actions required, rather than simply summarising status.
- Support strategic prioritisation: Help leadership assess competing priorities, resource constraints and execution trade-offs, ensuring organisational capacity remains aligned with strategic ambition.
- Connect strategy and execution: Feed insights from execution challenges and changing business conditions into strategic planning, helping refine priorities and maintain alignment with business objectives.
- Continuously improve execution effectiveness: Identify recurring barriers to delivery and strengthen ways of working, cross-functional coordination and organisational accountability.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
Success will be demonstrated through:
- Delivery of the strategic plan: Strategic priorities progress against agreed milestones and deliver intended business outcomes.
- Robust execution plans: Strategic initiatives are supported by realistic, well-structured plans with clear ownership, milestones, dependencies and measures of success.
- Proactive issue resolution: Execution risks and bottlenecks are anticipated and addressed early, rather than becoming reasons for missed commitments.
- Stronger cross-functional execution: Dependencies are actively managed, organisational silos are overcome and critical conversations happen at the right time.
- Leadership accountability: Senior stakeholders remain committed to agreed deliverables, with clear ownership and follow-through.
- Faster decision-making: Critical decisions are surfaced with clear recommendations and resolved in time to maintain execution momentum.
- Effective executive visibility: Leadership has a clear, forward-looking understanding of execution progress, emerging challenges and areas requiring intervention.
- Greater organisational execution discipline: The business develops stronger capabilities to translate strategy into outcomes, without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You should have:
- Significant experience in enterprise transformation, strategy execution, strategic programme leadership or management consulting, ideally within a complex, global technology or software organisation.
- A strong track record of driving large-scale strategic initiatives through to delivery, working across multiple functions and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to translate high-level strategic priorities into concrete, executable plans and critically assess their feasibility.
- Strong strategic and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to rapidly diagnose execution challenges, identify root causes and develop pragmatic solutions.
- Exceptional ability to influence, challenge and drive accountability with senior executives, including in situations where you have no direct authority.
- Experience navigating complex, cross-functional organisations, resolving dependencies, breaking down silos and aligning stakeholders with competing objectives.
- A proactive, delivery-oriented mindset, with the willingness to get into the details, challenge assumptions and drive resolution, rather than relying on reporting and escalation alone.
- Strong executive judgement, particularly in distinguishing critical risks and decisions from operational issues, and knowing when and how to intervene.
- Experience establishing effective execution disciplines, performance reviews and management routines that drive action and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex execution challenges into clear insights, options and recommendations.
