We are seeking an experienced Director – Supplier Relationship Management to lead and manage supplier relationships specifically within the transport domain, overseeing supplier performance, risk, and strategic partnerships that support the organization’s ambitious goals.
The Director – Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) is responsible for positioning TBU as a disciplined, credible and collaborative client of choice across the 30BN+ SAR procurement pipeline. The role establishes and leads a structured SRM framework that strengthens strategic supplier engagement, improves performance transparency, manages supply chain risk and drives long-term value across major infrastructure packages. The position plays a critical leadership role in enhancing market confidence and supporting successful procurement and delivery outcomes.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a formal SRM framework including supplier segmentation, governance structures and executive oversight.
- Lead proactive market engagement initiatives, including an annual TBU Industry Briefing to communicate pipeline visibility, procurement strategy and governance expectations.
- Work closely with the Central Procurement team to ensure strong alignment, transparency and coordination across procurement to avoid duplication of effort.
- Establish and manage structured supplier performance scorecards across major contracts.
- Facilitate quarterly executive-level performance reviews with strategic suppliers.
- Identify and manage strategic supply chain risks including capacity constraints, financial health, long-lead items and concentration risk.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Commercial, Risk and Project Controls to integrate supplier insights into procurement strategies and risk registers.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned forums, innovation workshops and structured performance improvement plans.
- Provide market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies and long-lead procurement planning.
- Support dispute avoidance through early intervention and structured supplier engagement.
- Develop executive dashboards providing visibility of supplier performance trends and systemic risk themes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the executive interface between TBU and strategic suppliers.
- Partner with Project Directors and Procurement leads on major package delivery.
- Engage with industry bodies and supply chain partners to enhance TBU’s reputation.
- Provide clear and structured reporting to the Executive Director DMO and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Business, Law or related discipline.
- 15+ years’ experience in supplier relationship management, commercial leadership or major procurement environments.
- Experience managing strategic supplier portfolios in large-scale infrastructure programs.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance and contract performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Experience delivering structured industry engagement initiatives.
