Director, Talent Acquisition
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Talent Acquisition based in the United States.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to build and scale a North American talent acquisition function during a period of significant growth.
You will lead a team of recruiters while personally managing critical searches across technical, engineering, AI, data, cloud, and leadership roles.
The role combines recruiting execution, team development, strategic workforce partnership, and continuous process improvement.
You’ll work closely with executives and hiring leaders, providing market intelligence and challenging assumptions to solve complex hiring needs.
A strong focus on data, automation, and AI will help improve recruiter productivity, candidate experience, and recruiting scalability.

Accountabilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of three recruiters by establishing priorities, operating rhythms, performance expectations, and a culture of accountability.
- Build a high-performing North American recruiting function focused on quality of hire, speed, candidate experience, scalability, and measurable business impact.
- Personally manage a portfolio of critical and difficult-to-fill searches, particularly senior roles across engineering, cloud, AI, data, and professional services.
- Own complex searches end-to-end, from intake and talent strategy through sourcing, candidate engagement, interview management, offer execution, and closing.
- Partner with hiring managers and executives to understand workforce needs, calibrate hiring profiles, provide market intelligence, and drive successful hiring outcomes.
- Act as a trusted recruiting advisor who can challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders, and develop creative solutions to challenging talent-market conditions.
- Manage recruiter capacity, workload allocation, and hiring priorities across North America while supporting the development and career growth of recruiting team members.
- Partner with resource management and senior Talent leaders on workforce planning, evolving talent requirements, strategic pipelines, and recruiting priorities.
- Drive improvements across sourcing, interviewing, candidate experience, recruiting operations, reporting, and other parts of the talent acquisition lifecycle.
- Lead initiatives involving interview standardization, recruiting technology evaluations, process optimization, and scalable operating practices.
- Use recruiting data and insights to monitor funnel health, time-to-fill, quality of hire, hiring trends, productivity, and overall recruiting effectiveness.
- Identify and implement practical applications of AI and automation to improve sourcing, candidate engagement, scheduling, reporting, analytics, and recruiter productivity.
- Stay informed about emerging AI capabilities and proactively identify opportunities to incorporate technology into recruiting strategy and execution.
- Deliver executive-ready recruiting updates, market intelligence, recommendations, and workforce insights to senior leadership.
- Build credibility across the organization by combining strategic thinking, strong stakeholder partnership, and exceptional recruiting execution.
- 10+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, including experience leading recruiting teams and supporting professional services organizations.
- Proven success recruiting senior technical talent across engineering, cloud, AI, data, and professional services environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a recruiting team while maintaining hands-on ownership of complex and strategically important searches.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders, hiring managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience operating successfully in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities and ambiguous requirements.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using recruiting data, metrics, and market insights to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience implementing recruiting process improvements, technology solutions, automation, and scalable operating practices.
- Comfortable using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve recruiting efficiency, sourcing, analytics, and decision-making.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and execution-oriented mindset with a willingness to remain close to hands-on recruiting work.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution and team coaching.
