Department Overview
McDonald’s is evolving its marketing model to be more connected, efficient, and effective. As part of this effort, McDonald’s is establishing a Future of Marketing team to define how marketing capabilities, processes, partnerships, and ways of working will evolve over time.
Reporting to the Marketing Function & Strategy Tower, the Director Agency Management will define the future-state strategy for how McDonald’s collaborates with its agency partners.
The overall goal is to define and build an agency ecosystem establishes their role in driving our Consumer NEXT strategy and path to deeper customer engagement - mobilizing our fans in new ways, giving them new and more personalized experiences, and doing this at a speed we haven’t done before. The role will lead all aspects of the design, and the processes and tools through which McDonald’s and its agencies plan and work together to reduce complexity, and accelerate speed-to-market across campaign development and activation.
The role requires 10+ years of working with agencies, either within an agency organization or in a client-side role managing campaigns across capabilities and agency partners. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of global client environments, different agency disciplines and operating models, and the strategic and operational trade-offs involved in building a marketing partner ecosystem.
Duties
- Shape McDonald’s Agency Ecosystem to create synergies across capabilities and geographies and deliver better, faster campaigns.
- Define operating principles that balance global scale with market needs, refining how McDonald’s works with agency partners across the end-to-end marketing lifecycle.
- Design the performance and governance model for agency partnerships.
- Assess how AI, automation, and emerging technologies enhance capabilities in market and global teams.
- Stress-test proposed design against business objectives, market realities, and emerging industry trends.
- Partner across Procurement, Finance, Marketing, Brand & Content, Customer Engagement, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Organizational Activation to embed the model.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of agency or client-side experience managing complex, multi-market agency and marketing partner ecosystems.
- Practical understanding of marketing planning, budgeting, campaign management, media operations, and integrated marketing execution.
- Hands-on experience with evolving media channels and the changing nature of integrated campaigns.
- Deep understanding of agency disciplines, operating models, roster structures, scopes, commercial models, service delivery, and client-agency ways of working.
- Understanding of how AI, automation, data, and emerging technologies are reshaping agency capabilities, and partner roles.
- Ability to translate strategic agency-model decisions into practical standards, templates, processes, and ways of working for global and market adoption.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $178,121.00 - $222,651.00 per year
