Position Summary
MDVIP is seeking a Director, Transition Marketing to own the marketing behind one of the most consequential moments in a patient’s relationship with MDVIP: their physician’s shift from a traditional practice model to MDVIP affiliation. This position is an integrated marketing role, pairing ownership of the value-proposition narrative and creative with the performance-marketing discipline to test, measure, and scale what resonates. The role facilitates a patient from their first in-person conversation with the physician through every follow-up touchpoint, and is responsible for the channel strategy, cadence, and content that make the story land. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration and an ability to act quickly and independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose pain points of the patient transition experience — where the value proposition could be strengthened, where messaging is too complex, or where channel choice or timing is working against the physician — using both patient and physician feedback. Translate those pain points into problem statements and drive the broader marketing team towards solutions
- Review existing transition marketing materials; prioritize and implement enhancements that boost patient engagement rate
- Identify underperforming patient cohorts; adapt materials and physician messaging to improve conversion
- Reinforce messaging during a physician transition across different channels and cadences including email, direct mail, text, and in-office conversations
- Partner directly with affiliated physicians and practice staff to pressure-test messaging, making sure the in-person value-prop conversation and every follow-up touchpoint feel authentic to that physician's voice and patient relationships
- Establish and report on transition channel performance (enrollment rate, engagement by channel, time-to-convert) to senior leadership, with a point of view on which creative or messaging changes are driving the movement.
- Stay current on consumer marketing trends in healthcare and membership models — direct mail innovation, email design standards, digital patient communication — to keep the playbook ahead of patient expectations.
Key Competencies
- Strategic Insight & Prioritization: Synthesizes internal data and frontline signals into a ranked set of opportunities, then builds the detailed plan to pursue them
- Influence Without Authority: Proven ability to mobilize Operations and Marketing teams to adjust roadmaps and resourcing without any formal authority over those teams
- Ownership & Bias for Action: Operates as a doer, not a delegator; rolls up sleeves, gets into the weeds of a campaign or a data set, and progresses opportunities independently.
- Test-and-Scale Discipline: Comfortable structuring a small pilot, reading the results honestly, and scaling only what the data supports.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong command of data; can translate findings into a revised messaging framework.
- Executive Communication: Translates complex, fast-moving transition dynamics into clear, decision-ready updates for senior leadership.
- Adaptability: Able to reprioritize quickly as new practice transitions surface on short notice, often outside a standard planning cycle.
