Director, Web Platform Engineering
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Web Platform Engineering based in United States.
This is a hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for the technical direction of a large-scale, Sitecore-based web platform and its broader digital ecosystem.
You will partner closely with product leadership to translate business priorities such as lead generation, SEO, personalization, experimentation, and conversion into scalable technical solutions.
The role combines architecture, coding, engineering standards, people leadership, and production ownership.
You’ll help shape modern headless web experiences using technologies such as Sitecore AI, Next.js/React, Vercel, and enterprise search platforms.
You’ll also drive AI-forward engineering practices, automated testing, knowledge sharing, and integration with broader data and AI capabilities.
As a leader-doer, you’ll remain close to the technology while coaching engineers, strengthening team capabilities, and guiding architectural decisions.
This is an opportunity to influence a globally used digital platform while building a pragmatic, collaborative, and continuously improving engineering culture.

- Strengthen automated testing through unit testing, visual regression testing, and other quality practices that support faster AI-assisted development.
- Evaluate and adopt AI-enabled capabilities for content operations, personalization, experimentation, and testing.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through technical coaching, performance management, career planning, and targeted hiring.
- Build a culture of shared ownership by documenting architecture, integrations, operational procedures, and platform knowledge while cross-training team members.
- Own L2/L3 production support, break-fix resolution, release processes, deployment standards, and on-call practices, ensuring platform issues are resolved within established SLAs.
- Represent the web platform in enterprise technology planning and collaborate across global teams to align technical direction with broader organizational priorities.
- 10+ years of experience in web platform or CMS engineering, with deep and current hands-on expertise in Sitecore AI and headless implementations.
- Strong experience with modern headless frontend architectures and Vercel or comparable deployment platforms.
