Position Summary:

The role of the dishwasher is to ensure that the kitchen and dish area stay clean and organized.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers, sinks, and power sprayers, to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
• Load and unload dish racks, ensuring proper arrangement and organization for efficient washing and drying.
• Sort and stack clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated storage areas.
• Inspect and remove any food residue or debris from dishes before loading them into the dishwasher.
• Hand wash delicate or oversized items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, and slicers.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and walking floors, removing any spills or debris to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Empty and clean garbage bins and recycling containers regularly.
• Assist in the receiving and storage of deliveries, ensuring that they are properly organized and stored.
• Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation guidelines, including using the appropriate cleaning chemicals and following established procedures.
• Notify culinary management of any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Assist in general kitchen duties and support other staff members as needed.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate protective gear, such as gloves and aprons.
• Perform other cleaning and organizational tasks as assigned.
