Dispatch Operator
Summary
Handles emergency calls, dispatches ambulances and medical units using a CAD system, and tracks unit availability during 12-hour shifts.
The Dispatch Operator dispatches appropriate ambulance and NET unit based on call information provided. The Dispatch Operator works 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively prioritize incoming ambulance and NET call requests
- Operate multiple incoming cellular and land telephone lines
- Use CAD System to dispatch ambulances and NET units
- Monitor the movement and availability of ambulance and NET units
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all Field & Operations personnel
- Accurately document all conversation details related to calls, dispatches, and messages
- Troubleshoots mechanical/situational problems
- Contact Dispatch Supervisor, COO, and Fleet Manager as appropriate.
- Perform accurate basic data entry
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
