Display Quality Engineer

Summary

The Display Quality Engineer is responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of web maps. The role requires knowledge of core web technologies, understanding of web browsers, programming expertise, and proficiency with web developer tools.

Summary:

The client’s team is looking for a highly motivated QA engineer who will be responsible for the delivery and execution of tests to help make maps work seamlessly on the web. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of core web technologies, a solid understanding of how web browsers work, programming expertise, and proficiency with web developer tools for various browsers.

Main Responsibilities:

This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities which includes enhancing current testing infrastructure and validating builds and deployments for maps on web releases. You’ll also work closely with the development team to design and implement new tools, in order to continuously improve both the quality of the product and the processes of the team.

  • Hands-on experience with testing large scale web applications.

  • Build clear, concise, and comprehensive test scenarios and test plans.

  • Investigate, debug, and triage difficult problems.

  • File issues and report status of current and in-development features.

  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies/Scrum and rapid releases.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with testing large scale web applications.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytics skills.

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and rapid releases.

  • Programming expertise and proficiency with web developer tools.

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of network security fundamentals.

  • Performance testing experience.

  • Experience with Python scripting language.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking initiative and is comfortable working with cross-functional teams. The person filling this position must be proactive, self-motivated, and possess a desire to succeed in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

Education required: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
