Distribution Center Assistant Manager
General Summary: The Distribution Center Assistant Manager of Supply Chain is responsible for the overall efficiency, accuracy, and profitability of Distribution Center (DC) activities. This role is responsible for overseeing purchasing coordination, inventory control, product setup, and maintenance of internal systems, while also troubleshooting operational and technical issues related to billing, credits, and order processing.
Essential Job Duties:
- Manage purchasing process to maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate product delivery while supporting cost control initiatives and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Monitor stock levels, demand trends, and product movement to reduce overstock and out of stocks.
- Oversee process for tracking product expiration dates and enforce proper product rotation and timely removal or discounting of near-expired products.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure inventory database accuracy and integrity.
- Manage the setup of new products in Pricebook and Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring all data (pricing, descriptions, UPCs, pack sizes, vendor info) is accurate and complete.
- Coordinate updates to pricing, promotions, and product changes across systems.
- Resolve billing discrepancies, invoice issues, and credit requests with vendors, ensuring accurate and timely resolution, collaborating with accounting department as needed.
- Investigate and correct errors related to order importing, processing, and fulfillment.
- Serve as a first-line resource for operational system issues (WMS, POS integrations, order platforms). Collaborate with IT or system vendors to resolve discrepancies or integration issues.
- Identify recurring system issues or other inefficiencies and recommend process or system improvements.
- Support and assist distribution center staff with picking, packing, and shipping operations, ensuring efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including OSHA standards, food safety principals, company or customer policies, and any other relevant governmental or regulatory standards.
- Generate and analyze reports related to inventory levels, shrink, purchasing trends, and operational performance.
- Assume operational leadership and oversight in the absence of the Distribution Center Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in distribution, warehouse operations, or inventory management preferred.
- Experience with WMS, ERP systems, or pricebook management preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily in the warehouse and will require standing and walking for up to 8 hours. May be subject to seasonal climate conditions including heat and cold. Must be able to operate all equipment associated with warehouse, including handheld scanners, forklifts, and liftgates. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
