InServ is looking for a Division Manager – Mechanical & Process Piping to lead and grow a major component of our industrial construction business. This is a senior leadership role for a proven construction leader who understands both how to deliver complex projects and how to build a successful business around them.

The Division Manager owns the Division's overall performance, including P&L, revenue, margin, backlog, cash flow, workforce capacity, and project execution. This leader will oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and operational leaders while maintaining executive oversight of large-scale industrial projects, typically $10M+.

The successful candidate brings strong business judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to make sound, timely decisions. You will be expected to identify opportunities, manage risk, solve complex problems, hold leaders accountable, and ensure the Division delivers safe, profitable, high-quality work.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Own Division P&L and drive revenue, margin, backlog, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute strategies for growth, operational performance, and workforce capacity.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and industry partners.
  • Provide leadership on major pursuits, estimates, contract negotiations, and high-value projects.
  • Balance growth opportunities with appropriate financial, contractual, operational, and safety risk.
  • Provide executive oversight of large-scale mechanical and process piping projects, typically $10M+.
  • Hold Project Managers and Superintendents accountable for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use CTC, job cost, productivity, forecasting, and schedule data to identify issues early and drive corrective action.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and resourced from preconstruction through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Understand how BIM/VDC translates into fabrication, prefabrication, logistics, and field installation.
  • Partner with VDC and fabrication teams to improve constructability, reduce field labor, minimize rework, and increase productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, execution, and profitability across the Division.
  • Develop and lead strong Project Management and Operations teams.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for performance.
  • Plan staffing and resources around backlog and future growth.
  • Develop the next generation of operational leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of progressive industrial mechanical and/or process piping construction experience.
  • Experience leading multiple large-scale projects, typically $10M+.
  • Proven experience managing a P&L or construction profit center.
  • Strong understanding of CTC, job cost, forecasting, labor productivity, margin, and cash flow.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/process piping construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • A solid understanding of construction scheduling, manpower planning, procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge of BIM/VDC and how it connects to prefabrication and field execution.
  • Strong business judgment, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A track record of developing people and holding leaders accountable for results.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is based in Charlotte, NC and requires regular travel to project sites, fabrication facilities, customers, and other locations within the Division's operating territory. Occasional overnight and out-of-state travel may be required.
