Divisional Director (Accounting Standards and Regulatory Oversight)

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Divisional Director to lead the regulatory oversight of the public accountancy sector and uphold high standards of financial reporting and audit quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the Financial Reporting and Standards Department and Inspection Department in regulating public accountants and promoting high standards of financial reporting and audit quality in Singapore.
  • Provide strategic leadership to management teams and secretariat teams supporting international regulatory engagements with organisations.
  • Drive transformation initiatives across audit and accounting regulation through process improvements, AI adoption and data-enabled approaches to enhance regulatory effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Build organisational capabilities by strengthening technical and professional expertise, leadership bench strength and a sustainable talent pipeline.
  • Lead environmental scanning and stakeholder engagement to address emerging accounting and auditing issues and keep the organisation aligned with global regulatory developments.
  • Provide strategic direction on legislation and policy reviews, liaise with government agencies, and participate in key committees to shape regulatory policies, standards and programmes.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least 10 years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting or regulatory oversight across diverse industries. Public sector experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Capable of leading and driving transformational change through strong strategic and organisational leadership.
  • Deep technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
