Dock Supervisor

Job Overview:

As a Dock Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and organized operations of our docks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinate and manage daily activities on the dock, ensuring timely and accurate loading and unloading of shipments.

· Supervise dock personnel, providing guidance and support to maintain a high level of productivity.

· Assign tasks and responsibilities to dock workers, ensuring optimal resource utilization.

· Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to streamline workflow and enhance overall operational efficiency.

· Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to the appropriate department.

· Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.

· Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.

· Resolve operational challenges and address customer concerns in a timely and effective manner.

· Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking and reporting any damaged or missing items.

· Foster a positive and cooperative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.

· Collaborate with other supervisors to achieve seamless coordination between different operational areas.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or related field is a plus.

· Proven experience in dock operations and supervision within the transportation or logistics industry.

· Strong leadership and organizational skills.

· Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

· Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse or dock setting.

· Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technology.

· Effective communication skills to interact with diverse teams and customers.
