Document Control Engineer

Summary

Maintains and updates electronic document systems, processes engineering change requests, and manages BOMs using ERP and PLM software like Epicor and Windchill.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and accurately update information in electronic document system.
  • Interact and liaise with project team members for project information and documents.
  • Ensure information is accurate and register documents into DCC.
  • Monitor status of actions and generate reports.
  • Create and maintain procedures for Document Control.
  • Distribute updated documents to relevant personnel.
  • Administer Engineering Change Requests and Notices
  • Administer specifications for parts and products.
  • Use Excel macros to perform documentation activities.
  • Use ERP software (EPICOR) for registration and updating of BOMs
  • Monitor ‘end-of-life’ obsolete part until closure by all responsible depts.
  • Use PLM software (Windchill) to perform tasks related to engineering BOM and changes..
  • Train relevant users on how to prepare, check and submit documents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of DCC documents by complying with IP protection protocols.

MAIN JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

· Diploma / Degree in any Science / Engineering discipline

· 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Good Communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, i.e, Excel, Words and Powerpoint

· Able to understand basic mechanical/electrical drawings, flow charts and BOMs

· Understand Excel macros and able to do minor updates in VBA codes
