Document Destruction Driver/DSP

SUMMARY

The Document Destruction Route Driver/DSP is responsible for providing route services to Gone4Ever document destruction customers while providing Life Skills Development services to accompanying client(s) with developmental disabilities. The requirements include transporting supplies and materials, loading and unloading the delivery vehicle, and ensuring that all cargo is safely secured before transport.

Document Destruction Route

  • Reports any vehicle maintenance problems immediately to supervisor

  • Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner in an effort to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage

  • Maintains a high level of security when emptying consoles and/or containers by ensuring all documents are retrieved and the consoles/containers are securely locked.

  • Services accounts using a hand-held device where applicable

  • Ensures the accuracy of the type and quantity of consoles/containers.

  • Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ confidential material is collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Handles or escalates to supervisor all customer problems and inquiries expediently and in a professional and courteous manner.

Customer Service

  • Know the customers and the clients

  • Build a strong relationship with clients’ families: Communicate with them; Answer their questions; Let families know you’re here to help

  • Build a strong professional relationship with and support co-workers

Person, Environment, and Activities

  • Help train and oversee the client(s) in their Document Destruction role.

  • Know Location of Client(s) and what they are doing at all times

  • Know current health/safety issues

  • Know potential problems

  • Implement safety solutions

  • Communicate any changes

  • Ensure clients have a professional appearance

  • Ensure clients provide professional services to Gone4Ever customers

  • Follow clients’ meal menus and special diets, if applicable

Documentation

  • Read each client’s Implementation Plan. Request Manager to provide any clarifications needed.

  • Daily Notes (T-Logs): Document in Client Records Management system (Therap) daily notes including: learning opportunities, choices, community participation, special events, new information, health concerns and follow-up.

  • Incident Reports: Know what is reportable; know the difference between Incident and Critical Incident; Report incidents timely, as required.

Medical Emergencies and Safety

  • Immediately report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation by calling 1-800-96-ABUSE.

  • Ensure clients are safe at all times.

  • Medical Emergencies: Call 911; Implement Emergency Training; Ensure Safety of Others; Inform Manager; Communicate with Emergency Responders; Help other affected clients

  • Driving: Never use cell phone while driving; Keep up with vehicle safety checks; Help clients in and out of the vehicle as needed; Remain 100% focused on driving; Obey traffic laws.

Behavior Programs

  • If 1 on 1, always stay on task

  • Ensure any security system is engaged

  • Be familiar with target behaviors

  • Know and follow behavior plans
