  • Define the target-state architecture and roadmap for A&T platforms, aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
  • Design financial systems, tax workflows and e-invoicing / e-reporting integrations across jurisdictions.
  • Lead solutioning for regulatory reporting and statutory compliance, including local GAAP and IFRS reporting outputs.
  • Define the standardized financial data model chart of accounts, ledgers, multi-entity and multi-currency underpinning accounting and reporting.
  • Architect integrations with:
    • ERP and client finance systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, local finance systems)
    • Government / tax authority platforms and e-invoicing networks
  • Embed data-accuracy, reconciliation and audit controls across the platform.
  • Govern solutions through the TDA / ARB process, producing solution design documents and architecture decision records.
  • Direct and mentor development teams through the delivery of highly scalable, resilient and secure enterprise solutions, upholding engineering excellence, performance, reliability and security-by-design standards.

Must-have skills (domain)

  • Accounting processes – Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) plus statutory bookkeeping, general ledger, reconciliation and financial-statement preparation under local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Tax compliance across jurisdictions – corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, statutory filings and tax-calendar / obligation management.
  • Digital-tax mandates – e-invoicing and e-reporting / real-time reporting regimes and their integration implications.
  • Close & consolidation – period-close, intercompany, consolidation and multi-entity / multi-currency processing.
  • ERP integration experience – across major finance platforms and client systems.
  • Data modelling – strong data modelling for audit, reconciliation and regulatory reporting.

Technology requirements

  • Azure data layer [SN2] Azure SQL, Synapse / Microsoft Fabric and Data Lake / Storage, with supporting data-integration services. Awareness of AWS is nice to have.
  • API-led integration (MuleSoft preferred) – system, process and experience APIs, with API design and lifecycle management.
  • Enterprise solution architecture and design – across cloud-native, microservices and event-driven patterns.
  • Security & compliance – security-by-design and awareness of the regulatory drivers relevant to TMF's operating model (DORA, GDPR) and of data residency across jurisdictions.
  • AI & GenAI awareness – working understanding of AI/ML and generative-AI capabilities (LLMs, AI agents, RAG, classification and extraction models) and how they apply to accounting, tax and compliance workflows – e.g. document extraction, reconciliation, anomaly detection and tax-rule interpretation. Able to critically evaluate vendor AI offerings, distinguishing genuine capability from marketing and assessing model accuracy, hallucination and bias risk, explainability, human-in-the-loop controls, training-data provenance and data-handling. Assesses AI solutions against EU AI Act, DORA and GDPR obligations before embedding them into regulated financial processes.

Ideal experience

  • 12+ years in enterprise / solution architecture.
  • Demonstrable exposure to financial platforms and/or tax systems.
  • Experience designing and leading development teams building enterprise platforms end to end.

Interview focus

  • Design a multi-country e-Invoicing and digital tax compliance architecture.
  • Design a multi-jurisdiction statutory reporting platform supporting local GAAP, IFRS, SFS and Direct Tax requirements.
  • Approach to data consistency, auditability, scalability and regulatory variability across regions.
  • Handling regulatory variability across regions.
