Donor Communications Manager
Position Summary:
The Donor Communications Manager (DCM) functions as the project manager and chief writer for direct mail campaigns. This includes but is not limited to campaign briefs, major donor proposals, direct mail letters and mass email copy. The DCM also manages the proposal and reporting responsibilities for assigned foundations. To create this content, the DCM liaises with the field leaders and the Global Projects Manager to collect stories and quantifiable impact measurement. In carrying out campaign project management, the DCM coordinates with the Director of Donor Engagement on campaign timelines, collaborates with Marketing to ensure each piece is fulfilled, and oversees the in-house mailing processes, including oversight and direction of the volunteer lead for in-house mailings.

- Must practice and support the relevant elements of the US Mobilization Base Manual
- Committed and growing Christian, passionate about fundraising to see the unreached reached. Cross-cultural experience preferred
- A person of character exemplifying qualities of honesty, trustworthiness, diligence, and dependability
- Possesses a bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management or another relevant discipline.
- At least one year of experience in communications, writing, fundraising and/or some other relevant profession.
- Able to clearly and concisely communicate the mission, vision and heart of Pioneers
- Able to support Pioneers’ fundraising goals and methods without reservation
- A motivated, self-starter with a desire to achieve personal and organizational goals
- Superior writing, analytical, communication and research skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Highly systematic and organized approach to work
- Excellent word processing skills with a minimum working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing - typing 50 wpm.
- High use of good judgment, tact and diplomacy
- Willingness to learn new software
- Ability to spend a substantial amount of time on video calls, sending emails and writing
Responsibilities:
Donor Communications
- Create and manage an annual campaign calendar for donor communications and improve communication strategies in conjunction with the Director of Donor Engagement
- Write major donor proposals annually
- Draft ongoing direct mail letters, newsletters/reports, and thank you notes
- Draft other donor communications as needed
- Collaborate with Marketing, outside consultants and the Director of Donor Engagement to fulfill pieces on time, as well as any others as assigned
- Oversee in-house fulfillment of communications, including the volunteer lead for in-house mailings
- Continually research and learn about new ways to enhance donor communications strategies
Grant Proposal Writing & Reporting
- Write proposals and reports for assigned foundations
- Collect, maintain and update information about field projects
- Serve as backup on MOU / reporting processes for the Global Project Manager, using these reports to collect stories and quantifiable impact

- Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. ·
- Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
