DOT Driver

We are looking for an experienced commercial driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. Originating from the Bryan/College Station, TX area to Wilmer, TX and Center, TX with possible back hauls from various shippers.

Responsibilities

● Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants

● Perform daily required pre- and post- trip inspections. Report defects that could be in violation of FMCSA/DOT compliance to include accidents or driving violations throughout the work shift

● Plan routes to obey local traffic laws and meet delivery schedules

● Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

● Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

● Verify delivery instructions and BOL submission to dispatch

Requirements and skills

● Proven work experience operating tractor/trailer combinations for at least 1 year

● Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)

● Ability to work up to the allowable daily hours of service

● Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations in accordance with state and federal DOT regulations

● No recent moving or driving violations (within 3 years, exceptions are case by case basis)

● Adaptability to changing traffic and/or weather patterns

● Willingness to submit to background/random drug testing per company/FMCSA policy

● Valid commercial driver’s license (Class A)
