Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team culture of the hotel. The GM provides strategic direction to all departments and ensures the property consistently delivers an exceptional guest experience while achieving or exceeding financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hotel Operations
    • Oversee all daily hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Sales, Revenue Management, Human Resources, and Security.
    • Ensure consistent compliance with DoubleTree and Hilton brand standards.
    • Establish operational priorities and hold department leaders accountable for results.
    • Maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel and actively engage with guests and Team Members.
  • Financial Performance
    • Develop and manage the annual hotel budget and operating plan.
    • Drive revenue, profitability, GOP, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and overall financial performance.
    • Analyze financial reports and operating trends and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
    • Control labor, departmental expenses, purchasing, and other operating costs.
    • Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to maximize market share and revenue opportunities.
  • Guest Experience
    • Champion exceptional guest service and Hilton's hospitality culture.
    • Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, service recovery, and recurring guest concerns.
    • Establish accountability for resolving guest issues quickly and professionally.
    • Ensure the hotel consistently delivers the DoubleTree guest experience.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
    • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
    • Promote employee engagement, recognition, training, and career development.
    • Build a positive, inclusive workplace culture consistent with Hilton's leadership philosophy. Hilton specifically emphasizes leadership through inspiring others and disciplined execution.
  • Sales & Business Development
    • Work closely with the Director of Sales and Revenue Management to achieve revenue goals.
    • Develop relationships with corporate accounts, group clients, meeting planners, community organizations, and key stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities to increase occupancy, ADR, group business, meetings, events, and ancillary revenue.
  • Brand & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, quality assurance requirements, safety regulations, and applicable laws.
    • Monitor inspection results and implement action plans to address deficiencies.
    • Maintain the physical condition and appearance of the property at a high standard.
  • Human Resources
    • Partner with HR on recruitment, retention, employee relations, training, performance management, and compliance.
    • Promote a culture of respect, accountability, teamwork, and recognition.
    • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
  • Community & Owner Relations
    • Represent the hotel within the local business and community.
    • Develop strong relationships with ownership, management companies, Hilton representatives, vendors, and community partners.
    • Communicate hotel performance, challenges, opportunities, and strategic initiatives to ownership and senior leadership.
