DRAFTER CUM QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Construction Industry)
Summary
Creates and reviews construction drawings, estimates costs, and manages project documentation using AutoCAD and engineering principles.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and maintain civil engineering drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review construction drawings and specifications for quantity take-off and material estimation.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, material schedules, and tender documents.
- Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate pricing.
- Prepare progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and material usage to ensure cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure drawings and project documentation are up to date.
- Attend site meetings and conduct site measurements when required.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing registers, and cost records.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, and relevant Singapore construction regulations.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the project team as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and contract administration.
- Able to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
